Massimiliano Alloisio e Nino Ballerini – ‘Harmonic Guitar Essence’. The duo has been drawing for many years on sounds of C. Corea, D. Reinhardt, W. Azevedo, A. C. Jobim, Pixinguinha, R. Dyens, J. Pernambuco, H. Villalobos, B. Powell, P. del Lucia, Al di Meola, L. Bonfa, A. Barrios, V. Amigo, J. Lorenzo, A. Lauro, M. Colonna e F. Gambale; now has just completed its first work. In its homonymous work , Harmonic Guitar Essence duo proposes music with Hispanic, Latin American, Gipsy, classical and fusion inspirations. The tracklist includes both original compositions and famous standards reinterpretation, for istance Autumn Leaves or Tico Tico. There’s also no shortage of a digression dedicated to Argentina with interpretations of Astor Piazzola’s “Libertango” and “Oblivion”. Another notable piece arranged for two guitars it’s prelude II BWV 847 by J. S Bach. Among original compositions two gypsy Rhumbas figure: Hijitas (Alloisio) and Shira (Ballerini); Other pieces characterized by a more hybrid language are Solaire (Ballerini), a fusion, latin, jazzy song and Garol (Alloisio), a technical-interpretive synthesis between the Cuban-Argentine world and flamenco. The first track “Harmonic Guitar Essence”, composed by Alloisio e Ballerini, represent a synthesis of a musical route which has been lasting for five years, made up of different style’s and musical culture’s quotations, ranging from Latin world to fusion, interweaving with the research of a new rich and harmonic musical essence.
