‘ Hard to find ‘ The initial project was called “Boss of the Bass” and it arose by a deep admiration toward Leroy Vinnegar’s music and style, one of the best model the world of jazz double bass has ever had: this important figure has been often clouded by leaders he joined over the years. “Hard to find” it’s a tribute to this great figure, the CD includes a selection of the most representative pieces through each different period of his career. The trio created for this project, beside Giovanni Sanguineti, envolves two great musicians who don’t need any introduction: David Hazeltine at the piano and one of the master of the drums i.e. Ed Thigpen, during one of his last recording session before his passing.
