‘ About the Duke ‘ Gianluca Tagliazucchi, leading a quintet with a line-up of important musicians among italian jazz scene, who are also great friends, achieve the release of a tribute to one, among jazz giants, of his first and everlasting loves : Duke Ellington. On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Duke’s passing, he proposes again and reinterpret classic tunes, well known and less known pieces, rangin from his debut with Black and Tan Fantasy to excerpts from the variegated world of suites and Sacred Concerts, besides some original compositions inspired by Ellington’s role.
